Terms of service

By using FortressChat (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

Who can use FortressChat

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) and able to form a binding agreement. You must use the Service in compliance with applicable law.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number. You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your phone number and any linked sign-in method secure. If you think someone else has access to your account, sign out and contact us.

Community standards — zero tolerance for abuse

FortressChat carries messages between people, so keeping it safe is a shared responsibility. You agree not to use the Service to post, send, or share content that is:

• harassing, threatening, hateful, or that bullies or intimidates another person;
• sexual content involving minors, or any exploitation or endangerment of children;
• violent, graphic, or that incites or promotes harm;
• spam, scams, phishing, or deceptive or fraudulent content;
• illegal, or that infringes someone else's intellectual-property or privacy rights.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You can block any user to stop receiving their messages, and reporta user or message from inside the app. We review reports and act on them — including removing content and suspending or terminating accounts — typically within 24 hours of a report. Blocking and reporting are always available to you at no cost.

Acceptable use

• No spamming, phishing, or harassment.
• No bypassing authentication, abusing rate limits, scraping accounts or contacts, or interfering with the platform.
• No impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity to gain access to someone's account.
• No reverse engineering or scraping the Service to build a competing product.

Your content

You own the messages and content you create. You grant FortressChat the rights necessary to operate the product on your behalf — store, process, deliver to the people you send to, and back up your content. We don't use your content to train external AI models. You are responsible for the content you send and for having the rights to send it.

AI assistants

If you message an AI assistant in the app, the messages in that conversation are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. AI replies can be wrong or incomplete — don't rely on them for professional, legal, medical, or financial decisions.

Beta status

FortressChat is actively developed. Features may change, break, or be removed. We aim for stability but make no uptime guarantees during beta.

Termination

You can delete your account any time from Profile → Account & settings in the app. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. On termination we delete or anonymize your data per the privacy policy.

Disclaimer & liability

FortressChat is provided "as is" without warranties. To the fullest extent allowed by law, FortressChat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
